Can I apply for multiple profiles?

Yes, you may apply for multiple profiles as long as you feel you can do justice to either role and answer the question appropriately. If not, just specify your additional skills in the relevant boxes on the form. Having a broad skill set is an asset, but it should be in addition to your main area of strength. 🙂

Will I have a better chance of getting selected, if i apply for multiple profiles?

Your selection depends on how you appear as compared to others applying under that particular profile. Answering the profile specific question is going to take time. Focus on your strength in the application and we’ll happily talk about crossing profile boundaries during the interactions and interviews.

Will I get a chance to work for other profiles,apart from the one I applied for?

Yes indeed! If you are interested, you are more than welcome to work in a profile you haven’t applied for. In fact, it is encouraged as long as you are willing to work hard on it.

Which profile is the least hectic to work for?

Every team member in general is required to work for 8-10 hours a week. Maybe more if required.

Should I read or study anything special before coming for the interview?

We do expect you to know a bit about how the clock tower works. Doing your own research on the subject will definitely show you in a good light.

Are there any prerequisites?

No. While the only prerequisite is the enthusiasm to learn, and the willingness to work and have fun. Some aptitude and interest towards the profile you are applying for is recommended (More knowledge/experience is expected from seniors when we evaluate as first and second years still have plenty of time to gain that expertise while within the team) You will understand this better while answering the questions.

Is the material given on the website sufficient to read?

As already stated,do your own research. 🙂

I am a 4th year student,should I apply?

Of course! You have the most experience. If your application is strong enough and you feel you can contribute to the team even in one or two years, you have a chance. Preference will be given to students who will be able to stay on the team for at least 2 semesters

I am a dualite and have not yet started my B.E. CDCs. Can I apply?

The most iconic landmark in the quaint, little hamlet that is Pilani, the BITS Clock-tower brings with it more than half-a-century’s worth of history and tales aplenty. Occupying a central place in BITS folklore, over the years, attempting an ascent of this structure was something of a rite of passage for every BITSian who hopped onto the life-mobile and sauntered off into the sunset.

As clock-towers go, this specimen is about as unique as they come – its array of 10 bells, gives it an unparalleled musical range among its brethren nationally, and it certainly hits rarefied notes on a global scale. That it has had to suffer in silence for the last 30 years is a deafening tragedy, with reports from its heyday extolling how its chimes could be heard from miles away!

Over the last couple of years, there has been a dedicated student-run initiative to restore this tired behemoth to the pristine glory of its yesteryears. Mentored by a group of recent alumni, a team of able hands and minds have made great strides in this regard.
